Rosy Health Care Foundation

The Uzuhs have learned first hand the limited capacity of public healthcare provisions in the United States and have initiatives of their own, formulated through the Rosy Health Foundation as mechanisms to empower individuals in the community with training that would enable them to assist families constrained by the need for assisted living, as well as their neighbors. Their effort is five-pronged and goes as follows:

Family wide care training – RHCF uses CPR and EMT training as a basis to empower and encourage communities to come to the aid of their aging and need-based neighbors with expertise and empathy. Under the guidance of licensed trained professional healthcare providers and specialists, this non-profit is offering medical training, education, health fairs and stipends to people looking to aid family members, neighbors and other people living in their communities, cities and regions. RHF aims to facilitate a quota of applicants interested in achieving CPR training, as well as other preventative health methods. CPR courses charge anywhere from $35 to $350 which can be a deterrent to interested parties.

EMT Class School stipends – Provide scholarships for parties in the communities interested in undergoing the entire training process of becoming an emergency medical technician. The initiative is to increase scholarship distribution yearly, but by beginning with a decent base of 5 scholarships.

Neighborly volunteers –Through an outreach part of their church, the founders of RHF are also developing a database of volunteers interested in assisting their neighbors in even the most basic of tasks in a home care situation, anything from food shopping, baby-sitting to writing checks for bills. Local area churches in Austin have been providing the Uzuhs with information and support regarding their homebound parishioners for years. In alliance with these churches, Rosy Health Care Foundation intends to offer family relief throughout the community.

The 911 Alternative – Thousands of people dial 911 for emergency care because they have no other way to acquire proper healthcare. By making provisions for this population with alternative, supplementary healthcare for severely indigent or needy cases, pressure is taken off the 911 response team to aid cases that are more appropriate for an everyday healthcare provider. Rosy Health Care Foundation would like to be that economic liaison with the development of an emergency fund for community members.

Rosy Health Fairs - The RHCF aims to meet the deficiency in coverage these newcomers are experiencing with quarterly health fairs, as well as supplementing general costs of consistent home health care. Currently, Sunny and his wife Rosy already provide their services at area health and community fairs, providing free consultation at events thrown by the YMCA, Westminster homes and the Hispanic Health Fair of Texas. They would like to continue that tradition by organizing their own free diagnostic fairs in their Southeast Austin location on Airport Boulevard.

Rosy Health Foundation is new, but is built on the solid foundation of care and experience of the Rosy Home Healthcare Agency. By organizing community health fairs that include other Austin healthcare facilitators including the use of mobile mammogram machines, AIDS prevention organizations, doctors from Rosy Home Healthcare professional clientele, and other hospital affiliated organizations, Planned Parenthood and groups aimed to help the aged like Meals on Wheels, RHCF can truly meet the needs of its community.

The founders and facilitators of the Rosy Health Care Foundation understand survival often supercedes any accommodations for prevention for poor and elderly women, making their role an urgent resource for no-cost training, diagnosis and support.
